We love the Neo-Patriot look inspired by our recent election. Jean Elise may not be the first to jump in front of a camera, but she makes no bones about her newfound enthusiasm in her country.

His name’s Johnny Ace. And he’s a bass player. Johnny describes himself as a rolling stone, whose dapper get-up and dark shades were completely arresting on an empty street. He doesn’t like getting his picture taken, but changes his mind since he senses “something good about us.” Johnny tells us to follow our dreams, a surprising yet genuinely touching sentiment so rarely expressed between complete strangers. Just as our conversation with Johnny Ace came to a close, the parrots of Telegraph Hill, a San Francisco legend, flew overhead. “Magical,” Johnny Ace murmurs. And it absolutely was.

Is she waiting for the bus? Trying to hail a cab? Or is she simply just grabbing some sunshine? This Angels fan sets the example that style is best expressed when you draw from your personality. A simple outfit with an eye-catching quality to compliment her Indian summer.
In an effort to expand our notion of personal style and global fashion, we will occasionally feature photographers we find on Flickr. Thank you to Yael-Sloma for her fabulous images from Tel Aviv, Isreal. For more info, check out her photostream and blog, The Street Walker.

Don’t mistake the distracted way Abraham checks his cellphone as indifference. Being that he’s an art student, Abraham professes great appreciation for what we’re doing, and sincerely wants to help the venture. “Where should I stand? Is the lighting ok? Sunglasses on or off?” Abraham explains that throughout his day, he illustrates the people he runs into on the street, focusing on what they wear. Where we pull out a camera, he pulls out a pencil. Examples of Abraham’s work are coming soon.
To be honest, we weren’t sure what to expect from this effortlessly striking couple when we asked to take their picture. It pleasantly surprised us to learn they were tourists visiting from Manhattan, not to mention completely gracious and disarming in their disposition. It’s not always easy to successfully combine sleek and comfortable while on vacation in an unknown locale, but these two accomplish it with panache on their early morning visit to one of the best haunts for coffee in the city.
